Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Coal Handling Processing Plant (CHPP) Manager to join our leadership team based at our Middlemount mine site.  Reporting to the General Manager, you will be accountable for the safe management of the CHPP, along with meeting production and quality targets while ensuring the continued enhancement of the plant, maximising recovery.

The role will be varied and rewarding and will include:

  • Personal role modelling of our safety values and constantly challenging existing safety processes to drive improvement;
  • Ensuring that the high safety standards at the CHPP are maintained;
  • Leading a large team of operations staff to ensure grade, quality and plant throughput targets are achieved or exceeded;
  • Overseeing the supervision of resources to meet maintenance schedules and be accountable for costs and budgets.

Qualifications

Key to your success will be your:

  • Demonstrated commitment to reinforce a culture where safety and health is paramount.
  • Natural leadership ability along with experience in leading a team to execute site based and corporate initiatives in a continuously improving, operating and expanding environment.
  • Fixed plant operational expertise working within a coal or mineral processing plant.
  • Demonstrated and consolidated experience within an operating processing plant within the coal or metalliferous industry;
  • Extensive experience within a large, complex organisation coupled with the ability to think strategically, plan effectively and solve complex problems;
  • Tertiary qualification in a Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering or related discipline is not mandatory but would be desirable.
