Job Description

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

The identification, design, implementation, and change management of effective control environment within FP&A as they relate to key processes, policies, and procedures. In addition support the FP&A Team with execution of all improvement initiatives including change management and training.

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust process controls including setting up periodic management assessment and reviews, working with FP&A Team, Project Teams and third party service providers.

  • Use technical internal controls knowledge to risk assess FP&A control environment, interpreting gaps to best-practice  – understand impact, root cause and action needed to bring about improvement.

  • Support execution of other FP&A continuous improvement initiatives (people, process, and systems).

  • Develop current and future state process maps for key FP&A processes including Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting, monthend and external reporting.

  • Develop FP&A procedures, polices and standards across all FP&A scope deliverables ensuring effective governance framework is in place.

  • Develop and deliver controls and compliance training as it relates to key FP&A processes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant discipline. At least 2:1 classification (UK degrees) or equivalent preferred
  • Strong preference for a) CIMA or equivalent or b) ACA trained or local equivalent
  • Financial literacy essential, and must be demonstrated either through accounting qualification or through degree

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong Financial/Performance Reporting and FP&A background
  • Experience of  implementing compliance legalisation e.g SOX or similar regulatory legislation.  
  • Understand technical and non-technical applications via current state to ensure optimal standardisation, simplification, and automation
  • Knowledge of the mining/extractive sector
