Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager is accountable for the delivery of the annual maintenance and engineering targets with zero harm to employees and contractors, including technical advice to the General Manager and Site Leadership Team on means to optimise equipment availability and reliability.  You will also be responsible for scoping and delivering key projects in relation to asset preservation and optimisation.

This is achieved through the effective leadership of the engineering and maintenance team to develop and implement plans, monitor performance, and complete work activities in accordance with corporate policy and procedures. In the medium term, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager will demonstrate ongoing performance improvement and develop key strategies to optimise business value

You will be central to systems and processes that will drive the safe delivery of the mine's performance targets and will be accountable for developing a robust business plan for production to maximise the value of the resource. Additionally, you will develop and manage the budget and expenditure for your team, ensuring top priority for safety and a focus on cost control. You will contribute to the development of strategic mine plans and continuous improvement objectives and drive a culture of innovation in your team to deliver an industry leading service.


Key to your success will be your significant leadership experience within mining operations (preferably underground coal), with demonstrable experience leading a team of experienced professionals to deliver against targets. You will be skilled in driving best practise through your department and into the business, including the development and implementation of strategy in line with business goals. Key to this role is your proven ability and experience in driving continuous improvement.

You will possess a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mining) or equivalent as well as Maintenance Management or CMMS qualifications, including S1, S2, S3 & G3.

Your breakthrough thinking and innovative ideas foster collaborative relationships across the various functions on site and contribute to the overall success of the mine.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the future growth of this operation as part of an innovative management team.

This is a Monday-Friday role, fully funded FIFO offered.
