Introduction

Leader in the Fast Food industry in SA is looking for a FM to join their wining and achieving management team. The Financial Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the financial activities of the Company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations. The job description also extends to obtaining and maintaining investor relations and franchisee compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

As part of the management team, the Financial Manager will have interaction with various members of the Company, both senior and junior, including:
• Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team;
• Providing strategic recommendations to the Managing Director and members of the management team;
• Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting to provide accurate information on Company performance;
• Advising on long-term business and financial planning;
• Establishing and developing relations with all of management and franchisees;
• Reviewing all formal Finance, HR and IT related procedures;
• Cash management and all financial and corporate accounting;
• Manage all legal compliance aspects of the Finance Department;
• Manage the integrity of the general ledger to ensure accurate input into the management and statutory reports;
• Submission of all necessary SARS related matters both monthly and annually;
• Checking of salaries and authorizing transfers;
• Preparation of all paperwork relating to annual audits (Financial year end is June)
• Management the audit process
• All insurance claims;
• All lease agreements;
• Manage the asset register
• Manage all company vehicle papers;
• Financial control Company owned stores.

The Finance Department has 3 divisions:

Head Office

Royalties

Company owned stores

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum requirements:

CA (SA) Preferably or a degree in Accounting and Articles.

10-15 years’ experience of which at least 5 years in a management position

Ability to manage a team

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written

Excellent organizational skills

Advanced skills in Excel, Pastel Evolution and Crystal Reporting

Experience in fast food or retail would be an advantage
